Our eyes react differently to changes in brightness (Luminance) and color (Chrominance). Eyes do not very well resolve small details in the color component but can significantly better discern fine details in the brightness component. Support for Radeon Pro Vega 56/64 (installed in new iMac Pro computers) has been added in Neat Image 8.3.5. AMD Vega GPUs are now supported on all three platforms: Windows, OS X, and Linux.
Our tests have confirmed that the latest version (8.3.1) of Neat Image plug-in for Photoshop is compatible with the recently released Photoshop CC 2018 as well as Photoshop Elements 2018.
Neat Image 8 products have been updated to version 8.3 with added support for Corel PaintShop Pro 2018 and several new AMD GPU models. A new set of generic noise profiles is introduced to help help preparing profiles in a situation when photo contains no areas suitable for analysis. The update also includes improvements in metadata compatibility and stability.
All Neat Image products have been updated to version 8.2. This release adds support for Affinity Photo and Corel PHOTO-PAINT 2017 on Windows. More AMD GPUs can now be used in Neat Image on all operating systems. Improvements have been made to the Filter Tuning Assist tool. In addition, metadata (EXIF) compatibility with the latest cameras has been improved.
